Oh man.. Hit me right in the feels! Wonderful cycle here back to hope from despair. I was thinking of this challenge yesterday and was wondering about the limit. 250 it is!

This was very well done. A dream of a safe place... I think most people share that. I certainly do.

I don't know if I'd want to live in a desert myself; I'm not wild about the heat, and I wouldn't want to eat a cactus. My dream home would be more in the north; if we could get a nice place up in Alaska or maybe even Iceland somewhere... that would be wonderful.

I am convinced some variation of this dream lives in everyones mind in some form or another! I have only been to Alaska, of those two places, and while it's beautiful in the summer the winter would be very difficult!

I've heard bad things about the mosquitoes up there, so then again...

Maybe Montana. As the guy in The Hunt for the Red October said, or paraphrased, I always wanted to see Montana.

Hooray for these connected inspirations, Scoot! I love it.

- My dream home is probably a disgusting mansion with a lazy river and amusement park but definitely not in a Neverland Ranch way. No my dream home is, Monticello? No, my dream home is Casa Verde? No, my dream home is the Myst house? No, my dream home is any place with four wall and adobe slabs for my girls (and boys). As long as there is a lazy river.

- Yes, Denver and much of the west is essentially a desert and no one should live here in the way that we do, but it is nice.

- Si! Nopales es deliciosa!

Have you already eaten cactus?! What is the best way to serve it?

I love your dream house description. Monticello, Myst House, etc--Definitely agree with you on proximity to water though. Huge quality of life enhancement to be able to go in, on, and around the water!

Have not cooked, but I have eaten them in a restaurant...no idea really, but here's a link from the internet!

1. I guess a house with a study, a nice family room, and space for entertaining and having guests stay.

2. Yes, I’ve been calling the desert home for almost a dozen years. I love it.

3. Yes, nopales are a staple during Lent in Mexico. A little chile ancho sauce, a little salt, tortillas and you're good to go.

Are they a lent staple because you leave the spines in?? 😂

A study always crops up on my list--I think because ive played clue and it would be a dignified place to be murdered. “Oh he was murdered in the garage”--boring! “He was murdered in his STUDY”--exciting, intellectual, mysterious!

I set up all my bookshelves in the office where i work so im gonna start calling that the study and hoping i dont get murdered there.

LOL, no spines.

It is absolutely more dignified to get murdered in a study.

If you pronounce "garage" the way they do in British murder mysteries it doesn't sound as undignified! "GARE-azh"

Isn't it amazing what you can do with 250 words: loss to hope! Fabulous!

Having lived in Africa for a good chunk of my life, I couldn't live in somewhere as hot as a desert. Milder climes for me, near the sea! My dream home, is a small space right by the sea, with lots of windows and sea views.

How would you feel about a lighthouse? 😂

Actually, I wouldn't mind at all. I love, small quirky spaces! I've often dreamed about it!
