Always appreciate your comments, David! Iron sharpens iron!

You're right--that's a great point. Though--I think the fact that I got that incorrect helps sell the fact that he wasn't ready to do it, and didn't. Though that particular fact was not written by design--from the standpoint of capturing emotion in writing, there's a deeper depth that would more readily communicate the element of despair.

Can't wait to read your take!

This one is probably the rawest "emotion-study" I've got. Next weeks will also be a heavy hitter. I've had a lot on my mind, so it's helpful to open the fence and let my thoughts graze openly a bit. Thank you for reading, Michael!

I love this idea and love that you call them Crunches!! I'm definitely going to write my own and share them with you. (p.s. I didn't find this depressing, but ultimately, sweet.)

I am glad you liked it! Thank you so much for reading!

In my Drafts/notes I have a guide that has a bunch of other "exercises". I ultimately have done Crunches most because they are easier, but every now and again I like to do a different exercise.

Sprint is where I think for 1 minute and write for 5 minutes

A Relay is where I am given a first line and complete the story

I have grand ambitions to do other exercises too, but haven't gotten around to 'em. The Crunches are working for me right now! Please do let me know when and if you write any, especially if you write your own take on my prompts! I would love to share them with my audience here!
