“A storm’s coming,” called out Tina as she watched the clouds building from the safety of her front window. “Looks like a bad one,” she added. “It’s very dark and moving quickly.”
As her husband sipped his morning coffee he could hear the wind power increase dramatically. Sid looked out the sliding glass door. “I need to take care of a few things outside,” he said as he stepped through the door.
The wind was whipping their unfolded umbrella back and forth, threatening to turn it into an accordion. It was dangerously close to lift off as Sid struggled to pull it into the down position. When that was done he looked out over the yard and saw that a couple of cushions had broken loose. The rain began coming down in strong waves soaking him to the skin. As he bent to pick up the first cushion a rather large clap of thunder broke, what felt like to Sid, right over his head. He started counting as he rushed to pick up the other cushions. A huge bolt of lightning struck the massive spruce tree in their yard causing it to topple over. Sid stood paralyzed in awe when he was tugged aside by Tina. The tree bounced off the ground right where he had been standing!
Sid looked over his shoulder as they rushed to the house, Huge pieces of hail were moving in a straight line right towards them. Just as they closed the door the gail began bouncing off the door making large clinking sounds.
“I think that’s enough excitement for one day,” said Tina as a lightning flash hit their house sending tendrils of electricity shooting out of all the electrical sockets. Tina dropped to the floor pulling an immobile Sid with her.
Thx as always for doing this
what he said.
I'll be posting mine on July 22. I still have three more parts of my 7-part fantasy series (https://gmdileo.substack.com/p/the-dole-1-of-7).

“Do you have a death wish,” she intoned gravelly.
