Hmmm... so the whole thing with Mary ends suddenly and with a wimper, not a bang. I'm disappointed.
I like the 'don't even know her name' beginning, altho I can't say I like the main character at all. The letter format is very interesting. Hard to keep the tension going, I would think. I will be interested in seeing where it goes.
"I don’t know if she was deliberately making herself known to me or if my own neuroses caused me to seek her out." I'd say he's a Darcy, but it sounds like he didn't offend her so he's off to a better start than Mr. Darcy!
