Dear Mary,
It is with the heaviest of hearts that I write to you today. Our beloved brother Lars has died tragically at the hands of Maristo revolutionaries. He died in an attack on an encampment there, while he was touring the regiments. The armistice has failed—the Counts of Maristo and of Midlands left the mediation, the Army has been reactivated. The situation is officially out of control. The Maristo Navy is on it’s way—I don’t know what that portends for us, but it’s more conflict and bloodshed.
Lars Tolor Jr. Poor, poor soul. He did not deserve this. God knows the reason for giving and taking life, and why this had to happen now I cannot say.
I also must inform you—that before I learned this news, Catherine and I were engaged in secret. I have not yet told Father.
My grief is beyond words. I will visit you soon.
Your loving brother,
-Armin

Oh nooo! Poor Lars!
I know he’s grieving, but Armin dropping a major bombshell of a secret engagement and then ending the letter with zero details is such a typical brother move. 😂
On another note, that's rough. I can't help but wonder who gets the title now? Armin, I assume, and I can't help but wonder what everyone's reaction is going to be when they realize this.
