Niiice, very nice. That ending line is just *perfect*. I loved Slobodan's explanation of how he knew the stories were true because they were told with equal gravity when he grew up. That's brilliant, that is.
I'm not usually drawn to historical fiction (I know next to nothing about WWI and stuff like this makes me feel like I'm missing details because of it). But this is such a captivating story! I'm glad I came back to read it out of my comfort zone. Can't wait for the rest of it!
